Shelby and the Blooms 101

After an intense week of editing, it's here!  I present to you the Shelby and the Blooms crash course video!  Become much more acquainted with the main characters of the series, in a mere 9 minutes!

Pickle Wizard Attack

This is one of the Pickle Wizard's attacks.  It is a hot mess of vinegar and pickles.  He is blasting a fairy.

Secret Project Revealed!

I was asked by a friend to design and create a cake topper for her wedding reception.  After two grueling weeks and a failed first attempt, here it is!  I used sculpy (oven-baked clay), foil, and armature wire.  They are both into scuba diving, so that was the theme, and you can see that the two bodies form a heart.  Congratulations, Jill and Bryan!  Now, back to my regularly-scheduled Shelby and the Blooms series.

They're HEEERRRRRRE!!!

Chubicorn Stickers!!!  Available now on my etsy shop!  Also, every purchase of $6 (not counting shipping) qualifies you for one FREE sticker!

Cupcake Wizard's Fantasy

There it is!  My last painting of 2012.  Happy New Year!  Cupcake Wizard wants so badly to be tough and strong, so he can potentially come to the rescue of his fairy girlfriend, Sophie.  Mixed media on paper; 11.5" x 8.5"

Shellrim Warrior Study

Here is another warrior study for the Shellrim wilderlands.  I posted the first guy on the Shelby and the Blooms Facebook page.  Ink on paper (colored in Photoshop); 3.5" x 2.5"

Flora Transformation Study

This is Flora, the fairy queen of plants in Shellrim.  She is in the middle of becoming more plant-like.  Ink on paper (colored in Photoshop); 3.5" x 2.5"

Baby Chubicorn

I originally doodled this little guy on a receipt, and thought it would make a nice color pencil study.

Casual Wizard Chat

Two wizards, chatting about stuff.

ATCs!!!

These are ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).  It's a fun activity I do with my students.  You start out with a 2.5" x 3.5" piece of paper, then you add art to it.  When you have made a good collection, you trade with someone else.  I traded these originals with my 6th graders today.  I'm going to do color studies of some of them, and post later.

The Wizards of Shellrim

These are the main wizards of Shellrim.  (Top row, left to right):  Wolf Cave Face Wizard, Bat Cave Face Wizard, Bumpaduh, Pine Tree Wizard, Face Full of Arrows Wizard, Hind Legs of a Horse Face Wizard, Volcano Face Wizard, Pixel (8-bit) Wizard.  (Bottom row, left to right): Cupcake Wizard, Little Twig Wizard, Pickle Wizard, Peach Face Wizard, Hungry Shark Tank Wizard, Ultra Beard Wizard ("Beardo"), Crystal Wizard, Blobby-Goo Wizard, and Dragon Cave Face Wizard.

Drawing and Coloring in Pixels!

My latest YouTube video!

Hey, look! It's Chubicorn's relatives!

One of my favorite artists just recently posted some Chubicorn-ish images!  His name is Scott C, and he is really cool.  In fact, according to this image, we think alike!  Now, you would think I would be offended that Chubicorn was copied by someone.  Chubicorn was created and copyrighted by me four years ago.   However, I take it as a compliment (maybe he saw my site!) or a freaky coincidence!

You can see more of Scott's work (and Chubicorn's relatives) here!

The Walking Chub

Halloween Bonus!

Hi fans!  For Halloween this year, I will be giving a special edition character costume button to students who dress like any character from the Shelby and the Blooms series!  I will be dressed as one of my characters.  Stop by to see which one!
